Subject: Test large attachments 5MB

This message is larger than the current system limit or the recipient's mailbox is full. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again.
As you can see an SMTP server was rejecting the e-mail because the attachment was too large. The poster had checked their Exchange server mail limits and the maximum document size within SharePoint, but couldn't find where the limit was being set.
In most Incoming email configurations you install an SMTP server on the MOSS box. The default configuration of the Microsoft server SMTP service is to limit e-mails to a maximum size of 2Mb so you must remember to change this if you want to receive bigger e-mails in SharePoint.
So - open IIS Admin, Right click the Default SMTP Server, go to Properties, go to the Messages tab and change the size limits as required.
Simple - but so easy to forget!
